My Pink Stamper Winter Challenge

Hi Everybody!
Here is my project for My Pink Stamper's Winter Challenge.  I didn't use my Cricut (gasp! Did I just write that?!?!  Shhhhhhhh, don't tell my Expression!), but I did use my Cuttlebug along the bottom border on the glitter paper (hard to see in the picture).  TFL, and hope everyone had a chance to craft today!

Anyone Wanna Get Together?

Hi Everybody!
I was so excited today to get the e-mail about the Scrapbook Expo that will be coming to the Ontario Convention Center.  I thought it would be a ton of fun to see if anyone is nearby that would want to come to one of the crop nights!  You have to have a minimum of 6 people to reserve a table, but if we had less or more than that we could work something out.

Anyone interested?  Please e-mail me if you would like to attend.  Click on the link for all the info.  TFL, and hope everyone had a chance to craft today!

Her First Cricut

Hi Everybody!
We are still recovering from my daughter's birthday this past weekend.  It was a blast, though!  I wanted to share my FAVORITE picture from her birthday:

Isn't this how we all felt when we got our first Cricut?

I also made her and her little sister some t-shirts to wear for the party:

Okay, I know this is the name of my blog, but in this case it's a statement.  She really is!!

My middle one came up with this for her shirt:

I really like the way these came out.  I used some iron on glitter sheets from Joann's.  I cut the letter's and phrases out using my gypsy and Cricut.  This was easy to do.  My husband did a great job ironing them on for me.  (You can e-mail me for prices if anyone is interested in getting one.)  TFL, and hope everyone had a chance to craft today!

A Blog Award

Hi Everybody!
First, sorry about the huge spacing, it looks different when I'm creating the post, and in preview, but when I publish it, the Grand Canyon size spacing appears.  I'll try fixing it tomorrow :)  So anyway......I can't believe it! Alma over at My Pink Life honored me by giving me a blog award! I was so happy that she thought of me and liked my blog enough to give me this award :)

So here are the requirements in accepting this award:

  1. I am a good Stay at Home Mom. Every job I've ever had has "asked me to stop coming back" except for this one, and I've never loved any job as much as this one!
  2. I'm spunky, and outspoken.
  3. I'm honest (seriously, the WORST liar ever), but not brutally honest. I think you can tell people what you think without having to hurt their feelings.

My favorite picture: (How can you not love this pix?!?)

These are the reasons I get up every morning, and have to stay up so late at night to craft!

Here are the 5 blogs I'm passing this award onto. They are all AWSOME, and have given me some great inspiration with some beautiful projects:

  1. http://inkingitupcrazy.blogspot.com/
  2. http://www.karleekrafts.com/
  3. http://thescrapoholic.blogspot.com/
  4. http://scrappyscavenger.blogspot.com/
  5. http://laurenscraps.blogspot.com/

The rules in accepting this award are:

1. you must thank the person who passed it on to you:
2. copy award to your blog.
3. list three (3) things you love about yourself,
4. post a picture that you love on your blog,
5. pass award on to five (5) others

Thank you ladies, and please don't forget to grab your award :) Thanks, and hope everyone had a chance to craft today!

New Use for Gypsy Photo App

Hi Everybody!
When I saw Sarah's post over at Pink Cricut it reminded me of something I had wanted to try with this app.  Using my scanner, I scanned a page of my newest cart Mini Monsters (sooooo cute BTW!!).  I saved it as a JPEG file.  (See Pink Cricut's post on how to save photo's onto your Gypsy.)

The images were still a little small, but this would still be useful to see the layers that are available for that cut.

Then using my computer program, I cropped the photo to zoom in on the image of the cut that I wanted.

I don't know that I would want to do this for ALL my handbooks, but for the ones with complicated layers this would be really handy to have when you go to a crop or something.  The Gypsy has tons of memory space, so you could fit quite a bit of handbooks this way.  You could also scan in images of your keypads if that was something you also needed.  I had tried downloading the cart handbooks from the Cricut Cart library page, but I wasn't able to (but if you are able to figure out a way to do this, let me know, 'cause that would be a faster way to get the handbook images into your gypsy).  Hope you find this helpful!  Thanks, and hope everyone had a chance to craft today!

Special Happy Birthday Family Friday

Hi Everybody!
This is a special Family Friday since tomorrow is my oldest daughter's 8th birthday.  She wanted to have a Cricut crafting party, and also play laser tag so that is what we're doing!  We made a special video of putting her invitations together, so I hope you all enjoy it.  You may need to take some motion sickness medicine before you watch for some of it, but you can't deny how cute she is, and her excitment is catching :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARISA! I LOVE YOU :)

Please show her some love and leave lots of comments! Thanks, and hope everyone has a chance to craft today :)

Great Deals at Big Lots! And I'm Sorry :(

Hi Everybody!
I hope everyone is enjoying getting back to school, or their summer if they are still lucky enough to be on summer vacation :)  This is our second week back at school, and it's definitely been busy getting everyone situated.  I'm so sorry I haven't posted in a week!  I guess I was more caught up in school stuff than I realized :)  Ok, so I made it over to Big Lots yesterday (the great thing about my kids in school is that is a LOT easier to get to the stores!! Is that good or bad.......).  I headed over to the crafting stuff right away and yay!! They had Cuttlebug embossing folders for only $2.  I made this little video so you guys can see what I got.  Stay tuned until the end for a special message :)  Thanks, and hope everyone has a chance to craft today!

Family Friday

Hi Everybody!
Sorry I'm so late posting today!  It's my kids first week back at school, so life has been a little crazy!  Last week I showed part 1 of the travel kit I made for my kids to take on their trip.  Today I wanted to show part 2:

I made travel journals for them to write about the trip in.  I love my Bind-it-All! I used Going Places for all the cuts (sorry, don't remember the sizes, but the notebook is 4" x 6").

I painted the inside covers with acrylic paint.  This took 10 minutes, including the actual painting and drying time.  Kids could definitely do this step.  Just make sure you wash all paint brushes as soon as you are done using them.

I used Stampin' Up patterned paper to cover the front and back panel.

I made little goody bags for them.  I used Create-a-Critter for the crab.

I wrote "Don't be a crab, eat some candy! Ask first!".

Thanks for joining me again for Family Friday's.  If you are not able to make a project, please feel free to leave a comment and let me know how you spent time with your kids this week!  Thanks, and hope everyone had a chance to craft today!

Pink Cricut DT Call

Hi Everybody!

So Sarah over at Pink Cricut was having a design team call. Sarah has become one of my favorite people ever since we did a blog hop together. I was so happy for her when she put out a new line of stamps! They are really cute stamps, and I definitely wanted to try out for her design team. So here is what I came up with. I wanted to show how to use these smaller size stamps on something other than a card. I decided to make a centerpiece. Each figure or shape has a space for a stamp from the Rock On Stamp Collection:

•The electric guitar in the center could have "You're Electric".
•Hannah figure on the left could have "Glamorous" on her shirt.
•The pink crown frame could have "Drama Queen" in it.
•The black and silver frame in the bottom middle could have "Party Like A Rock Star".
•The heart could have "Heartbreaker"
•The diamond (above the pink) has space for the "You're A Gem" stamp.
•The Hannah figure on the right could have "Rocker Chick" on her top.

I used metallic and shiny paper for all of the cuts. I added bling on some of the accent points on the shapes, and around the top of the vase.

TFL, and hope everyone had a chance to craft today!

Whaddya Think Of My Layout??

Hi Everybody!
I threw together this layout this morning. I inked the edges, and I also used/did a bunch of thing I normally don't:

 *black and green patterned paper
*stamp
*off set 1/2 border
*ribbon
*ribbon slider

I kinda like it. It's always fun to try something different.  TFL, and hope everyone had a chance to craft today!

Cricut Cart Storage

Hi Everybody!
When I did a project using a cricut cart box, I was asked what I did with my carts.  I threw together this little video to show how I store mine.  HTH, and TFL!! Thanks, and hope everyone had a  chance to craft today!

First Friday's Challenge #2: Girlfriends, Made By Momo

Hi Everybody!

I wanted to make sure I joined Abby over at Cricut Me That for her First Friday challenge.  The theme was girlfriends.  I also used it for Made By Momo tuesday challenge (flowers).  I wanted to use things I don't normally use.  So I used a stamp (that I actually got from the round robin box, check out my FB page to see that thread!), fiber, patterned paper (I've had this one for yeeeeeeeeears!), and black paper.  I used Stickles to fill in the letters, and bling on some of the dots on the stamp.  I inked the kraft, and patterned paper with white ink.  Not sure what I think of this card yet, but I liked that I challenged myself :)  TFL, and hope everyone had a chance to craft today!

I added a purple velvet flower with a jeweled brad in the middle to keep with the sassy theme!
I think it's a pinch too big, but I really liked the way the velvet looked.

Family Friday #2

Hi Everybody!
Thank you sooooooooooo very much to everybody who entered my first Family Friday!  I also just wanted to add a note about this challenge.  I will provide a project for inspiration every Friday, but not an "assignment".  Things don't always (or ever?!?!) go as planned with kids, so to make it as stress-free and enjoyable as possible, I will provide inspiration, but you guys are free to post whatever project you come up with :)  Ok, so for this week, I want to show you part one of  a little travel kit I made for my 2 oldest girls.  They took a trip up north with my parents (I know, they're BRAVE), and I wanted to give them something to do on the long trip.  Details below:

I took a plain yellow folder, and cut this title out using the Graphically Speaking cart.  Using patterned paper makes it look more decorative without having to do anything to it.

Then I used the Princess Face Assortment from Peachy Keen stamps to give it a playful look.

Since my kids were going on a long car trip, I printed some activities from the internet, and took some worksheets and put them inside. This kit was a surprise, so I wrote directions, and a little mommy love note on the pockets of the folder.

Since I cut this title with plain paper, I decided to emboss it with the Spots and Dots folder.  The Cuttlebug is very kid friendly, and easy to use with kids.

 More Peachy Keen faces :)

I made sure to put age appropriate activities in each folder.

That's it!  I made this for a trip, but with school coming up, this would be a great way to decorate school folders and help get the kids excited for school.  If you have Locker Talk, Making the Grade, or any of the classroom carts, you could use any of those cuts to decorate the cover.  Hope you like this, and can't wait to see what you and the kids in your life create this week!  Don't forget, if we have more than 10 entries, we will have a prize drawing.  But the main goal is still to spend time with the little ones in our lives.  Thanks again, and hope everyone has a chance to craft today!

Dino Clear Card-Guest Designer project

Easiest Challenge Ever!

Hi Everybody!
Michelle over at scrappinwithmybug is having the easiest challenge ever!  All she wants us to do is show the aftermath of our "creative workouts"!  So here is mine.  My craft area is a desk in my bedroom, and half of our closet so it doesn't take much for it to look messy!  Here is the tour!

My little piece of heaven is a desk in my bedroom, and half of my closet.

The part of my desk with the blue cup on it ('gotta stay hydrated during those looooooong crafting sessions!) is actually a pull out section. On those rare days when I'm actually able to clean that part off, I can push that back in. It's nice to have that extra option.

On top of the hutch, I keep all my paper. The section on the right had a door on it, but it came off when I moved, and it just never made it back on. This works better for me though :)

Ok, I hope you feel better about yourself now! But as long as we all have a table, piece of floor, or corner of our bedroom who cares, as long as we can keep crafting!!! Thanks, and hope everyone has a chance to craft today :)
