Photo App idea

Hi Everybody!

How is everybody enjoying the new Gypsy update? *I think I'm in looooooove* What has everybody been using the new photo app for? One idea I had is to scan the handbooks into your computer, and then upload them into your gypsy. For some of the carts that have detailed layers, this could be VERY useful!

Fruit Display

Hi Everybody!

Whew! This last couple of weeks have been tough! It was the last two weeks of school for my kids, so there were quite a few activities they had. On top of all of that, it was my middle ones birthday! She loves fruit, and decided that's what she wanted to bring as a treat for her class. So we put some fruit on bbq skewers, and used a head of lettuce as the base. Here are the details:

  • Celebrations cart
  • adhesive, liquid adhesive to apply glitter
  • balloon border sticker

This was before I had Design Studio, so I cut out the happy birthday first, and then selected the present shape to cut around it. I forgot about the paper saver button, so that's why the letters look a little funky!

It turned out great, and the kids all loved the fruit (well, except for that one kid......there always has to be that one kid!) TFL, and hope everyone had a chance to craft today!

MPS NSD CHALLENGE #4,5,8,9,11

Hi Everybody!
Whew! Did everybody have a great National Scrapbooking Day? I participated with Robyn over at My Pink Stamper with her NSD Celebration, and it was a blast! She was kind enough to give everyone until midnight CST tonight (Monday) to complete the challenges. But I think there was so many people trying to post their projects too, that her website kept crashing! But I was so proud of myself that I was able to finish ALL 12 of the challenges! So I still wanted to post them to share them with all of you. I hope you enjoy them, and please leave a comment to let me know what you think :) Hope everyone had a chance to craft today (unless you're still recovering from this past weekend!!).

Challenge #4-For this challenge we were to use our least favorite or least used cart. I picked the Opposites Attract cart. I wanted this cart so bad when it came out, because the way the script font looked, it looked like the letters would be welded together. This was pre-Design Studio, or Gypsy! But for this project I didn't even use the script font. I found this cute design instead :)
  • Thanks = Opposites Attract
  • oval and scallop = Mini Monograms (altered with my Gypsy)
  • cardstock = Stampin Up
  • ribbon = adhesive ribbon ?brand?

Challenge #5 -Teacher Appreciation or someone you appreciate
  • Just Because cart
  • base = 4 1/4" x 5 1/2", inked edges
  • brown panel cut @ 5 1/2", embossed with swiss dots folder, inked edges
  • radish and title cut @ 5 1/2"

Challenge #8 -Make a monochromatic project & add a flower

  • Thanks = positive image from challenge #4
  • base = green (?) paper from Stampin Up
  • green strip = DCWV, embossed with Divine Swirls folder
  • flower = Prima, added pearl center

Challenge #9 -Shape project

  • Just Because cart
  • owl, p.51 using layer3/shadow feature & fit-to-page feature
  • sentiment p. 51, using stencil feature
  • prima flowers, pink brads added
  • paper = DCWV & stampin up

Challenge #11-Colors of the rainbow
  • Just Because cart-shape with fit-to-page feature
  • Zoo Balloo cart - happy birthday
  • paper-from my stash

MPS NSD CHALLENGE #12

MPS NSD Challenge #12
This was all cut out of a 6 x 12 piece of paper (not including the base). It was double sided, so I just flipped it over to the color that I wanted for each piece. This made it super simple!
  • Give a Hoot cart = squirrels, hearts
  • sentiment = Create a Critter cart
  • paper = Stampin Up, Creative memories
  • A2 size card

MPS NSD CHALLENGE #10

MPS NSD CHALLENGE #10-Make a project using flowers or something spring

  • Stretch Your Imagination cart
  • grass = I can't remember the cart!, DCWV paper
  • green glitter paper = Best Occassions @ Walmart
  • base = stapin up paper, inked edges

MPS NSD #7

MPS NSD #7- Make something for dad or guy in your life

"Anti Grumpy Juice"-You may have seen something like this made to go around a bottle of water, but I changed it up a bit for my husband. He enjoys a cold beer now and then, so I made this to put around the neck the next time I buy him a bottle!

  • TBBM cart-door hanger cut @ 7"
  • Happily Ever After cart-Grumpy
  • Mickey Font cart-words
  • white stitching around hanger, and on letters

MPS NSD CHALLENGE #6

MPS NSD CHALLENGE #6- Make something with a child or for a child

This was a great and special challenge for me. I LOVE crafting with my kids, but with 4, I don't get to do it that often since it can get a little hectic with my 3 month old and 2 year old around. I honestly didn't plan to do this with my 5 year old, it just happened to work out. She loves Mulan, so we put one together that she put on her wall :)

  • Happily Ever After cart
  • used fit-to-page feature on a 8 1/2" x 11" page

MPS NSD CHALLENGE #3

MPS NSD CHALLENGE #3-Thinking Outside the Box

There was also a sketch that we could use along with this challenge. So I used that, and my out of the box for me was using acrylic paint on a page, and micro beads. I used a Stampin Up scallop punch for the patterned flowers, then used the negative space as the shape to paint the acrylic flowers. I used Scotch Quick Dry Tacky Glue (AWSOME GLUE, more on that later...) to glue the beads down.

MPS NSD CHALLENGE #2

MPS NSD CHALLENGE #2-Use scraps

Ok, so this one I even impressed myself with my scraps! Every single piece I used was a scrap, including the background piece! I had cut little things out of the bottom that I just covered up with the waves and sand. More details:

  • Create a Critter = title (embossed with Divine Swirls folder), and castle
  • waves = can't remember cart!, embossed with Divine Swirls folder, inked white and blue

MPS NSD CHALLENGE #1

MPS NSD CHALLENGE #1-Make a project for Mom or someone dear in mind

Ok, of course I chose my mom. Hope she'll like her card!
  • rose = Happily Ever After cart (I think, it's either that one or the other princess cart)
  • sentiment = Cake Basics cart
  • ribbon = dollar store
  • paper = Best Occasions Glitter paper, Stampin Up
  • scallop edge punch = fiskars, punches scallops with 1/8" hole punch
