Family Friday Is Now Thankful Thursday Challenge!!

Hi Everybody!

Do you like the new button??!?!!  After some thought and planning, I've decided to kick the Family Friday idea up a notch!  The biggest change will be that it will now be Thankful Thursdays.  Friday seems to be a big day for Design Team's and hops.  So in order to highlight family time and my super fabulous team better, we are moving to Thursdays! 

Another big change will be that this will be an actual challenge now.  I will post a challenge every other Thursday and at the end of the month I will choose a winner. So if you all join in on both challenges for that month you will get 2 chances to win. For example, the first challenge will be on Feb 3rd. You all will have until Feb. 16th to enter the challenge. (For the Thursdays in between challenges I will be posting ideas for family activities.)  Hint: it will be a Valentine theme. Come back on Thursday to find out the full challenge details, and what the prize will be!!!  Thank you so much to all the people who support family time, and crafting with your kids, or young people in your life :o)  I hope you all come back on Thursday to join us!!!

So I decided to make a "Loves me, loves me not" layout.  It's funny what you can find when you search for words on the Gypsy.  I didn't expect to find this exact phrase already created. I was all ready to create it myself.  I was so happy to see that the Just Because cartridge had it!!  Here are the details:

*Just Because cartridge

*Peachy Keen Stamps = Everyday Assortment, Happy Lashes, Everyday Character Face *Elephant Love digi stamp from Page-kits.com

*paper from my stash

*This was my first time using a digital stamp, and I had fun doing it!  I used a blender pen, and Stampin' Up! watercolor crayons to color it in. 

*I also added Stickles to the hearts, and some details on the elephants.

 

*Ok, so things can happen when you craft late at night, and you're tired.  I meant to add the PKS faces more towards the tip of the petals.  I wanted to do this so that there would be room to add a picture on the petal.  You could add a picture under or on top of the petal since this plastic is see through.

*I have had these felt embellishments forever!  I thought this was the perfect flower center, and added some great texture to the page :o)

Thank You Blog Hop and Flaunt It Friday!!

Hopefully you just came from Theresa the Scrapbooking Queen, and checking out her AMAZING project.  If not, head on over to see Raven from Love 4 Stamps to start this hop from the beginning :O)   Ok, so let me make the introduction.  Everybody, meet my new blog.  New blog, meet everybody!  First I want to thank Theresa from the bottom of my heart.  She is the other person who made this blog-over possible, and gave me a gift when we hadn't even known each other that long.  Blogging, and crafting are ALL I do in my spare time, so to get such a gift just really touched me.  So when our hop hostess Raven from Love 4 Stamps asked me to be in this hop, I definitely said yes!!!!  I wanted to thank Madeline for what an absolutely amazing job she did on my blog-over.  I told her what I wanted, and she did that and more!  My family and crafting are everything to me, and for her to incorporate that so perfectly into my blog design was priceless :o)  Ok, so onto the project! Raven wanted us to incorporate our blog design into a project.  So I highlighted the family, and love aspect of my blog.  

I also had a design team challenge for Flaunt It Friday today, and the cut we were to highlight worked perfectly with my project!  Well, the chosen cut was a dog and cat facing each other from the Paper Pups cart using the border feature.  I don't have that cart (what???!!!), so I substituted with the two squirrels that are facing each other from the Give A Hoot cartridge.  So here's what I came up with:

*B is for Boy Lite cartridge = acorn

*Twinkle Toes cartridge = heart and layer

*Give A Hoot  = squirrels

*pink Stickles

*white gel pen

*paper from my stash

*Pink By Design Love Always stamp set
*hearts embossing folder

*When I saw this saying, I knew I HAD to get that stamp set!  Love it!!

*I added some pink Stickles around the inside of the heart :o)

*It's kinda hard to tell from the picture, but I embossed the top with the little hearts embossing folder.

*I just cut some white cardstock for the inside pages of the album.

Creative Cutters Design Team Day!! And Another Challenge

Hi Everybody!
I'm SO stinkin' excited to show you guys my first project as a Creative Cutter design team member.  I have to say, I started my blog about a year and a half ago, and NEVER in my wildest crafty dreams did I ever imagine I would be so lucky as to have people who would want me to make projects for them!  So our first challenge theme was Love Bug.  And the first prize offered in our term is the Jasmine cartridge!!

So here is the project I came up with:

*Happy Hauntings  = frame and all layers

*Simply Charmed = phrase

*Potpourri = Cricut head and all layers, large hearts

*Peachy Keen Stamps = Laffy Taffy set

*Action Wobble (I FINALLY used one!) under the Cricut head

*doodling with white gel pen

*red Stickles (around the picture opening)

*I used the smallest face in the Laffy Taffy PKS set to fit on this small title, but I gotta love the assortment set for always having the perfect size!! 

*Coloring the face with the white gel pen was delicate, but I just dabbed the pen where I wanted white and it worked out.  I was happy with it!

*And I was so excited to finally use one of my Action Wobbles!  I still had the unopened sample pack they sent out.  But I was saving them (you know, like how we always save that special paper for that special project that never comes?!?!).  So I finally took the plunge and used one under the Cricut head, and now I know why everybody loves them so much!!

*I used the same PKS set, but a larger face size.

*And here's the Mr.!

*I tied a ribbon to the base and the arm, because after a while the fold in the chipboard wasn't stiff anymore and just completely folded flat.  The ribbon kept the arm from folding all the way down.

Cooking With Cricut Design Team Day!

Hi Everybody!!
I'm so happy to show you my next project for the Cooking with Cricut Design Team!  For this challenge we were to create a  project celebrating a loved ones birthday, a birthday in general or ours.  So I decided to create a layout for my middle daughter's birthday.  Here's what I came up with:

*Sweet Treats = title, cake stand

*patterned paper = Cosmo Cricket

*I added some stitching around the title with my favorite white gel pen :o)

*Patterned paper has always made me nervous, but I made myself try it with this layout, and I love the way it turned out!
