It's Pink Tuesday! Pink Cricut Design Team Day (with a sneak peek)!

Hi Everybody!
I love Tuesday's 'cause it's my turn to share a Pink By Design project with you! Now I am one of those people who doesn't think about Christmas until about November 30th (oops!). This year, though, Pink By Design stamps have given me a jumpstart! Here are the details for my project:

*Pink by Design = Postcard background stamp + a Sneak Peek set!!
*Twine = Trendy Twine
*Stampin' Up! = patterned paper, ink
*Joanns = green paper

*Here's the tip I want to share today. To give this postcard the weathered, rolled up edges:

1. Tear paper edges (pull TOWARDS you when ripping).
2. Press a baby wipe to the edges of the paper.
3. While the paper is damp, roll/curl it.
4. Ink the rolled edges.

The edges should look similar to this:

That's it! Super simple, but I love the way the aged look of the postcard combined with the vintage feel from the PBD stamps come together :) If you try this technique, make sure you post your project over on the PBD messageboard HERE!

Don't forget Sarah is releasing her next set of stamps THIS FRIDAY!! You can find details HERE.  TFL, and hope everyone gets a chance to craft today :)

Cooking With Cricut's Cartridge Showcase & Mickey and Friends Monday!!

Hi Everybody!
Today I'm excited to share my project for the Cooking With Cricut's Cartridge Showcase.  Each Monday a member of the Design Team features a Cricut cartridge of their choice and projects we've made with that cartridge. We hope you'll be inspired to pull out your cartridges and find new ways to use them!

Since today is also Mickey and Friends Monday here on my blog, I chose the Toy Story cartridge.  I LOVE Toy Story, and while this cartridge is still as challenging as the other Disney carts, it is still just as rewarding!!  One feature I think is awsome on this cart is the ICON feature.  All the Disney carts have it, but on the TS cart a lot of the icons are retro versions of the characters!  So I decided to cut the Jessie icon.  Here's how my card turned out:

*Toy Story cartridge = Jessie (icon button), frame and layers
*Pink By Design = Best in the West set
*added yellow flowers from my stash
*bling from Michaels
*Post-it Craft paper
*kraft paper from Joanns

Isn't that too cute?!?!  I love the "feel" of that cut.  Here are a couple of other projects I've made with this cart.  Please click on the titles if you'd like to check out some more pictures of that project :oD

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Don't forget to check back as there is some FUUUUN stuff coming up on my blog this week!!  TFL, and hope everyone has a chance to craft today :)

Cooking With Cricut Design Team Day - Peach Challenge!

Hi Everybody!
How have you all been enjoying your summer?  Ours "ended" a couple of weeks ago when my two oldest went back to school (honestly it's YAY and BOO at the same time!).  But now I am getting back into the swing of things.  So August is National Peach Month and the 24th is National Peach Pie Day....So for this Cooking With Cricut challenge how about some Peachy projects! Anything with a Peach!  I have never used a peach on a project, so this was a little bit of a challenge.  Here's how my project came out:

*Preserves cartridge
*Preserves Cuttlebug Companion embossing folders
*Pink By Design = Sweet Summer set
*Peachy Keen stamps =  Wide Eyed Kids Face Assortment
*Stampin' Up! ribbon and all peach colored cardstock
*all paper from my scrap stash!

*I decided to try rubbing an ink pad over the embossing. Not a new technique, but new to me! I was actually pretty happy with how it turned out.

*I put pop dots under the bottom mat to give a little bit different dimension.
*Of course pop dots under the peach too!

*I thought this sentiment was too perfect for this card!

There ya go!  I hope you liked it, and now head on over to Cooking With Cricut  to join us in this Peachy challenge :oD

My Memories Suite Software Review & Give-away!!

Hi Everybody!
I'm pretty excited for my post today.  Today is my first time doing digital scrapbooking!  I have been given the opportunity to try My Memories Suite:

This is a fun and easy digital software that lets me create fun and delightful projects including scrapbook pages, cards, home decor and more.  I will definitely be sharing more projects with you all using this program!  The project I'm sharing today is probably one of my favorite projects ever!

I decided to use a calendar option from the MM store.  You can personalize every project exactly how you want it.  Here are the details:

* My Memories Suite Scrapbooking Software
*Square 1 =  (printable, repositionable and removable
adhesive-backed fabric)
*Pink By Design = Hats Off set, All In The Family set, Scripted Year set

Here's how the calendar looked like when I opened it up in the program:

*The gray portions on the calendar are the parts that may be cut off or trimmed when the album is bound into a book.  You get a helpful pop up letting you know this when you first start your project.

*You can see some of the featured designs on MyMemories.com on the left side, and all the options you can use on your project on the right side.

*Here's how I changed the project to get exactly the colors and design I wanted:

-the ribbon from yellow to red
-added the bow towards the top (I could have placed it wherever I wanted it!)
-added the 3 flower buttons
-added the notepad (also an available embellishment in this program)

*After I printed it, I decided I wanted to add the year, so I stamped it using the Hats Off set from PBD.

*The drop-and-drag feature in this scrapbook software make it super easy to add pictures!  Isn't my family gorgeous?!?!

*After looking at this picture, I decided to add this sentiment from the PBD set All In The Family.

*I added this cute little notepad to write quick little notes.  If you use pencil, you can use it over and over again!

* Stamp is from PBD set Scripted Year.

*The reason I wanted to make this project so badly was because I have a "naked" stainless steel refridgerator.  It KILLS me that I can't just throw on a magnet to put up my kids artwork or reminders.  This program is a perfect marriage to the Square 1 product, and allowed me to FINALLY put something up on my 'fridge!

*This has been up for about a week and a half and leaves no marks on the door :)

And now guess what?!?!?!  My Memories Suite  has been awsome and is letting me GIVE-AWAY.....

Mickey And Friends Monday

Hi Everybody!
Whooo hoooo, it's Monday!! Wait, did I just say that?  But I actually found a reason to be happy about Mondays! Because that means it's time for Mickey and Friend Mondays!!! Do you like the new button?  Thank you to my friend Cheryl Gaffney for making this for me :oD  I'd love for you to grab it from my sidebar and post it on your blogs.  Let's spread the Disney Magic!

Today my guest designer is my FB friend and Cooking With Cricut design team sister Jennifer Hudson.  Check out her beautiful project, and please click on her name to head to her blog for more great pictures :)

I used Pooh & Friends for Pooh and Piglet, and Create-A-Critter for the title.

What a great card!  And I love how she used patterned paper for the background instead of a solid color.  Thank you Jennifer!   I hope it inspires you to try some Disney cuts for yourself, they are soooooo worth it! Have a Magical Monday!

I'm Looking for Some Disney Designer Guests!

Hi Everybody!Happy Friday :)  Have you all been enjoying Mickey and Friends Mondays here on my blog?  There have been so many great projects, and I'm thankful to the guest designers I've had so far!  I'm looking for some more crafters that would like to share some projects using any of the Disney or Pixar cartridges.  Here are the details:

  • You can do just a cut by itself, or a project made with a cut. Any cut from any Disney cartridge is fine. The main highlight will be the characters, but there are a lot of flowers and other things on the cartridges that you can choose from too.

  • If you do a cut only, please include some tip that will make putting the cut together easier.

  • If you make a project, please include a good picture of the final project.

  • You will sign up for a date in the Facebook group (so you must have a Facebook account).

  • This is not a design team, so you can sign up for whatever day you want from the list available.  If you choose to only sign up once, that's fine.

  • Please have your project or cut info to me by the Saturday before so I have time to create the post.

  • Does this sound good?  If it does, then please send me an email at crazyaboutcricut@hotmail.com with Mickey Mondays in the subject.  Thanks, and hope you have a fabulous Friday!!
