Cricut Cardz Challenge #68

Hi Everybody!
It's time for Cricut Cardz Challenge!!  This time the challenge is to use a house image from any cartridge, a touch of lace and a flourish.  The lace was probably the toughest part for me.  But I finally managed to come up with a project.  I am NOT happy with the way the frame cut out, but I couldn't find any more lace paper so I just went with it.  Anywhoo, here's how it came out:
  • Zooballoo cartridge = card base (using card feature!), house layers
  • French Manor = flourish frame
  • lace paper = from my stash
  • EK Sucess border punch

  • I added some red Stickles to the heart.

  • I also challenged myself to use patterned paper for the layers.  I like how it turned out :o)

That's it! Ok, so now it's your turn!  Head on over to Cricut Cardz Challenge, and enter!!

Acrylic Stamp Storage and a Sneak Peek

Hi Everybody!
I have been thinking of how to store my rapidly increasing amount of acrylic stamps. Pink By Design has been putting out so many good ones, I need to make more room!  She will be releasing more this Friday!  You can watch that on the Ustream channel HERE.  I had been keeping them in drawers, but they were not fitting anymore. I wanted to find a way to store them, but not invest in a whole system since I tend to change my mind a lot. So I decided to alter a paper storage idea for stamps. Here's what I came up with:

  • You start out with a medium size priority mailing box. These are free at the post office! But don't get greedy, just take what you'll use :o)
  • Measure the height of the stamps that you'll be storing against the box.
  • You want to cut a little below the height of the stamps so you can see the tops.

  • Cut cardstock in your color of choice to match the height of the box. (I'm partial to Cricut green!)

  • Some of my stamps sets had the names at the top of the package. For those that didn't, I just took a permanant marker and wrote the name at the top.
  • (The newer sets from Pink By Design have the name directly on the stamp storage sheet at the bottom.)
  • I also put them in alphabetical order.
  • If this ends up working out for me, I will probably make divider tabs that have each letter of the alphabet on them.
  • This design makes it easy to just flip through the sets to find the stamp I'm looking for.

  • Here's how it turned out! (The list of supplies I used is at the end of the post.)
This is the front........

  • This is the back.
  • The Crop 'Til You Drop set from Pink By Design was perfect to decorate this crafty box!
  • Do ya see my sneak peek?

  • So true, so true.........

  • Can't forget to decorate the sides!
  • I also stamped with my personalized stamp from PSA Essentials.

Supplies
  • mailing box
  • 12" x 12" cardstock
  • Pink by Design Crop Til You Drop set
  • Pink By Design sneak peek of an upcoming set!
  • Peachy Keen Stamps = Wide Eyed Kids Face Assortment, Laughy Taffy Face Assortment, Happy New Year Assortment, Happy Lashes Assortment
  • Cosmo Cricket Pixie-licious line

So there you go, I hope you like it! You can also cut the box a little lower, like for Peachy Keen Stamps. Depending on how long you take to decorate it, this can take as little as 10 minutes or 45 like I did! The best part is, if it doesn't work out, or you just don't like it, it doesn't cost anything! And if you do like it, you can make as many boxes as you need. TFL, and I hope everyone has a chance to craft today :o)

Nikki Sivils Early Father's Day Card

Hi Everybody!
I'm sad to say it's the last day of my official highlight of Nikki Sivils paper :(  It's been so much fun this week working with this high quality paper.  Today I'm using the Something for Everyone  line.  I decided to get a little head start on Father's Day.  Here's my card:

  • Nikki Sivils Something for Everyone line
  • Holiday Cakes cartridge
  • Stampin' Up! cardstock
  • Pink By Design = Tool Time set (inside of card)
  • brads from my stash
*Here is the card with matching envelope.
*I just saved the letters from the license plate and adhered them to the envelope! I didn't have to cut anything extra :o)

*I distressed the edges for more of a "manly" look than faux stitching.

*Here's the inside.  I used some of the scraps I had to add a matching strip.
*I used Pink By Design Tool Time set for the sentiment.

Using matching paper lines makes these projects VERY quick to put together!  Don't forget, if you want to win some Nikki Sivils paper of your own, remember to leave a comment on each of the posts listed below for a total of 7 chances to win!

Thankful Thursday Reminder on Friday featuring Nikki Silvis!

Hi Everybody!
I'm a day late with my Thankful Thursday Family Activity :O(  Sorry!!  Don't forget you still have time to enter HERE for a chance to win the CREATE A CRITTER CARTRIDGE!!  Deadline is Wednesday @ 8 pm PST so get crafting this weekend :o)  Here is some inspiration from my design team member Erika:

And now onto my daily dose of Nikki Sivils this week.  Here's the 12 x 12 layout I made. This is the perfect page to show off each family member!

  • Nikki Sivils  Will He Be the 1 line = scallop shape paper, and maroon background paper
  • Pink By Design = All in the Family set
  • Peachy Keen Stamps = Retro Face 1 1/8" set, Laffy Taffy Assortment set

*I stamped all the different kinds of family members around the heart in the middle.

*And you can put pictures of each family member in each circle.  Or just leave the cute Peachy Keen faces!

*The great thing about acrylic stamps is that you can curve them a little to fit any shape!

*And the coolest part??!!  IT SPINS!!

Nikki Sivils Notecard Set Using Bella Blue And Oscar Too Line

Hi Everybody!
Can you believe this is my 5th day posting in a ROW??  Honestly, I never thought I could because I'm so busy with my family, but Nikki Sivils paper is SO easy to work with that I can create projects really quickly.  So this time I used the Bella Blue And Oscar Too Line.  I think pages that are scallop shaped are so gorgeous, but almost too gorgeous!  I never want to cover them up.  I took a look at the scalloped page from this line, and had the idea to create a notecard set.  You could seriously create this whole set (with envelopes) in about 20-30 minutes.  Even less if you don't doodle as much as I did :P

Here's what you start with:

  • Cut that into 4 symetrical trianges in wedge shape (cut vertical, then horizontal).
  • Paste with the point of the wedge in the bottom left of the card.  You may have to play with it a little bit and do some trimming, but nothing major.

 Here's how it turned out:

*Using some of the same stamps that you use from the cards on the envelope really bring the them together.
*Making matching envelopes makes this look like a complete set.

And if you want to win some Nikki Silvis paper of your own, remember to leave a comment on each of the posts listed below for a total of 7 chances to win!
*One entry per person per post ;)

Nikki Sivils Bookmarks Using Tree Love Line

Hi Everybody!
I'm back today with another project using Nikki Sivils paper!  You can check out her project page here, her Facebook page here (and let her know that Crazy About Cricut sent you!), or her great blog here.  Today I decided to make my two oldest daughters a couple of bookmarks using the Tree Love line.  I also laminated them using my YourStory.  Here's how they turned out:

  • YourStory laminating/binding machine
  • Pink By Design = Woodland Critters set
  • Peachy Keen Stamps = Everyday Character Face Assortment
  • Scotch Thermal Laminating Pouches (less than $3 for a pack of 20 5" x 7" size at Walmart)

*Here's the page where I got all the cut outs from:
*I cut out two of the Fall sections from the word border.
*Then I stamped sentiments from Pink By Design Woodland Critter set on the tab, and also on the main bookmark.
*I also rounded the corners.

*Had to Peach-ify the little tree!!

*This is the back of them. I just cut more shapes from the cut out sheet, inked the edges, and adhered them.

*This is how it comes out of the laminator before I trimmed off the excess plastic.
* This was my first time using these pouches, and they worked great!

Nikki Sivils Bee Mine Card

Hi Everybody!
I am happy to get to share another creation I made with beautiful Nikki Sivils paper today!  I used the Willow Bee line today.  So even though Valentine's Day has passed, it's always a good idea to give your husband a love note!  Here's the card I came up with:

  • Paisley cartridge = bee
  • Pink by Design sentiment = Be Mine set
  • Michaels cardstock = black base
  • Stickles = black, yellow
  • Action Wobble = behind the bee
  • Creative Memories punch

*I used the CM punch to punch out the sentiment and pop it up.
*I added some "honey" around the sentiment.
