Pink By Design Design Team Project - Retirement Banner

Hi Everybody!
I am so super excited to be doing my first post on the new Pink By Design Stamps blog! Have you seen all the stuff there is, including the messageboard?!?! There are challenges, you can post any projects you've made, questions you have, anything! Now onto my project.

My dad is retiring this year after teaching for over 20 years.  We're all so excited to have him home, and my kids are looking forward to having a full time grandpa (grandma is too!!). The school and the families are having a fancy dinner at my FAVORITE Cuban restaurant (yuuuuuummmmyyy!), and I'll be putting this banner up as part of the decorations.  It's my very first one, so be gentle! Thank you to my friend Ruthie for inspiring me to try one :)

  • B is for Boy cartridge = banner and all banner layers
  • Baby Steps = font
  • Pink By Design stamps = Hat's Off, Canvas background stamp
  • Banner and all layers = 5 1/2", 15 cuts of each layer. This amount of letters would also work for CONGRATULATIONS, and GRADUATION.
  • font = various sizes from 1 1/2" to 2 3/4" (I used my gypsy to make some letters bigger to fit the shape better.)

It's kind of hard to tell in the picture, but the blue square on the right has the texture background stamp added to it. It really adds a lot in person!

I hope you enjoyed the video, and don't forget to check back everyday for your daily dose of Pink By Design inspiration on the Pink By Design Stamps blog :)

MyCutSearch Tip

Hi Everybody!
The creator of MyCutSearch has given me ANOTHER great tip to share with you guys. I hope you guys are enjoying these tips, there will be more to come!  Make sure you head over to their Facebook page HERE, and tell them Crazy About Cricut sent you, and what you like about their site!  Here's the tip for today:

I am hoping that all of you that own an Imagine will be VERY happy with the MyCutSearch Tip for today!  Over the long weekend I was able to do some catching up on information for the website, and I now have ALL of the Imagine cartridges that are available up on the site and databased!

Now, I don't own an Imagine, so had to do some thinking when it came to all of those backgrounds and patterns that are included on the cartridges.  How in the world was a going to "categorize" those?  Then I started to think about how I look at paper when I go to start a project.  Sometimes I know I want a specific color or pattern.

So let's pretend you were getting ready to scrapbook a layout of a summer picnic.  Wouldn't a gingham check pattern be nice to use, since it would look like a traditional picnic tablecloth?  So go to MyCutSearch.com and type in

You should get this for your search results

That's right . . . that is a preview of all of the Imagine handbook pages that have a gingham check pattern.

Here is a larger view of one of them.

Some of the other patterns you can search for are floral, stripe and polka dot.  I hope that all of the Imagine owners like this feature and find it helpful!

*Once Upon a Princess cartridge
*Smiley cartridge (on Gypsy only)
*Peachy Keen stamps = Princess Face Assortment
*Cuttlebug embossing folder = D'vine swirls

*I added some doodling with my white gel pen.  I love the little "extra" this gives the card!

I hope you like it!  Don't forget to head on over to check out the prizes, challenges, and of course inspiration over at Cooking With Cricut!

Thankful Thursday Reminder, and Teacher Gift!

Hi Everybody!
I'd like to remind everybody that you still have 1 week to enter a project in the Thankful Thursday challenge!

You can enter HERE.

And here's the prize!!

So for my crafty family time this week, here is the project I made with my kids.  Their last day of school was Tuesday, so these are the presents we made for each of their teachers.

We made each of their teachers a 6 notecard set with holder.  These were SUPER simple:

*Pink By Design stamp sets = Big Thoughts (outside), and Our Teachers (inside).
*Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More cartridge = matchbox.
*The DCWV Grade School mat pack was PERFECT for this project! If you don't have it, the Let's Write Background, or Notebook Paper Background from Pink By Design would also work awsome!
*I cut 1/2" off each mat stack sheet, then cut that in half.
* Each card was 3 1/2" x 5".
*Each mat was cut down 1/4".
*Cosmo Cricket paper = matchbox and my two cards

*Here's the card I made for the teachers :)

*Here's the sentiment I used on the inside:

*Here is the card my middle daughter made to go with the present. (My older daughter made one too, but she sealed the envelope before I got a picture!)
*She used the Locker Talk cartridge with the card feature.

This set was quick to put together, and something I hope the teachers can use.  Please join us in the Thankful Thursday challenge, and spend some time with your family/loved ones crafting!  TFL :o)

Tangled Cupcake Toppers

Hi Everybody!
I decided to make a late last minute post to show you some cupcake toppers I made for my daughter's birthday this past week.  She wanted a Tangled birthday (I know, how dare she pick a party I DON'T have a cart for!!), so I made these cupcake toppers using Tangled stickers.  They came with a white border that I cut off.  Thanks to Papercrafts by Candace and her awsome Facebook album for the inspiration :o)

*Once Upon A Princess = scalloped square (altered on my Gypsy)
*Stickles around the edges

*These got pushed down a little to far!

*Here they are in all their deliciousness!  I even put two blue ones for the two boys we had going :o)

That's it!  We celebrated her birthday at Knott's Berry Farm, so we didn't have a lot of decorations.  I hope you guys will use this idea for your next bday partaaaay!!!  TFL, and hope everyone had a chance to craft today :o)

Cooking With Cricut Everyday in May Celebration

Hi Everybody!
Today I'm so happy I get to help the oh-so-talented Melin from Cooking With Cricut celebrate her blog-aversary!  I love being on her design team, and getting to craft with such amazing team members!  So for today, I made this little notecard holder.  I like to give card sets to people, since it's something I know they can always use!  Here are some project details:

*Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More cartridge
*cards are 3 1/2" x 5"
*Pink By Design sentiment = Birthday, Birthday set
*Cosmo Cricket paper = Social Club line
*Stampin' Up! ribbon and yellow paper

*matching inside!

*Here's a view with all the cards inside of the box.

I thought this font from the set went PERFECTLY with the older look of the Cosmo Cricket paper!  I hope you like it! Now head on over to Cooking With Cricut to see all that Melin has going on over there :OD  (Psssst, I heard there are lots of freebies being given away this month!!)

MyCutSearch Tip

Here is a quick MyCutSearch Tip
for you.  For those of you that don't know, one talented family
created the website MyCutSearch
to help people find images that are on Cricut cartridges. People have
compared it to a search engine for Cricut images. If you want to learn
more about the Mosch Family and why they created the site, you can read
the whole story here
. If you are looking for an image of a kite,
you can type in the word kite to the search bar and hit search, and MyCutSearch will show you a
preview of all of the Cricut cartridge handbook pages that have a kite
image on them.
Now, if you cannot see the images when they are this small, you can
click on any one of the images to get a larger preview, like this . .
.

Still need it larger?  Click on the LARGE preview, and you will
see that one page even larger.

Now on to the tip . . . what if you type in your search item, like we
did for kite, and when you click on the preview it brings you to a
totally different page of a cartridge that was not on the original
search results?  What is wrong   is most likely an
internet cookies issue, and you need to delete internet cookies.
Sometimes the cookies will hold on to a past search for some odd
reason, so by clearing the cookies you are wiping the slate clean so
that you can do your new search.  We have this and other tips on
our page.

I hope that this helped you to learn something new about MyCutSearch, and how you can use it for your papercrafting needs.

Scrappin With My Bug Birthday Blog Hop!!

Hi Everybody!
Welcome to Scrappin With My Bug Birthday Blog Hop!!  You should have just come from Alma over at http://www.almabrooksblog.blogspot.com/.  If not, please head over to our hop hostess, and birthday girl Michelle at  http://www.scrappinwithmybug.com/ so you can start from the beginning.

I'm so happy to be in this birthday blog hop for two reasons.  One is because Michelle (Scrappin' With My Bug) rocks!  Second is because it is my daughter's birthday today!  So to celebrate, I came up with a couple of projects.  Michelle wanted us to use some of her favorite things.  She likes a lot, so it wasn't hard!  Here's how they turned out:

Michelle's favorite things I used: Pink By Design stamps, Peachy Keen stamps, paper stacks (DCWV that I got because of one of her haul videos!), and animal paper.

*Cricut Everyday cartridge = title
* title = soon to be released material that works like vinyl, but is repositionable!  More about this in a future post!
*Pink By Design = leopard background stamp

Click on the link to go to the store and get this awsome background stamp!

Pink By Design

*Michelle actually had cut the head from Car Decals and sent it to me!!

 *Animal Kingdom cartridge
*Safari kids DCWV paper stack
*Peachy Keen  = Everyday Character parts set

Since I think Michelle is Elephant-astic, I thought this card was perfect!  And what's a hop without candy??
