Family Friday

Hi Everybody,
I can't believe I totally spaced on last weeks Family Friday!  Well, I can believe it, but I'm still sorry!  Ok, so I'm on top of things this week and I have a project for you.  About a year ago (scary how long things can stay in our stash!), I bought this sign at a scrapbook convention, and I thought it was really cool, because you could use the negative and positive space.  Here's what the sign started out as:

Then I put some blue acrylic paint on it.  This was SO easy to do.  (I don't know if you're supposed to put any thing to prep it, but I didn't.)

I left the inside of the letters the natural color. I liked the shadow effect it gave.

This is what the back looked like.  I just put the pictures in the spaces, and covered any other open spaces with black paper.

And here is the final product!  I stitched around the letters with a white gel pen.  It wrote smoothly on the acrylic paint.  I then cut some of the shapes from the Cricut Lite cart B is for Boy. That is one SUPER cute cart!!  I used the Shimmer pack from DCWV.

Start to finish this project took a couple of hours, so if you get a chance to get something like this do it!!   TFL, don't forget to enter what you make for or with the kids in your life, and hope everyone has a chance to craft today :)
