Mickey And Friends Monday!!

Hi Everybody!
I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! I'm happy to help your week get off to a good start with some Mickey Magic! Welcome to Mickey and Friends Monday :O) If you're new to my blog (welcome!), this is the day where I highlight a character cartridge. This is to help any of you who may be a little bit intimidated by these types of cartridges, and to give you some inspiration on how to use them :O

We stayed at a Disney Hotel this past weekend, which was a blast!  For this week, I decided to use the orginal Mickey and Friends Cricut cartridge.  Here's the card I made:

*I outlined all of Daisy in Stickles.  She such a stylish duck, I had to bling her up!

*I used Animated Greetings 2 from Pink By Design for this fitting sentiment :)

TFL, and hope you have a Magical Monday!!

Today I used the Best of Pixar cartridge to make the cover for my notebook.  I do a kids crafting class every Monday in June, so I thought this would be a fun project for them to make.  I used the icon feature to make it A LOT easier for the kids to put these cuts together.  Here's how it turned out:

Here's how my oldest decorated hers:

Here's how my middle daughter decorated hers:

*They both HAD to use the same paper! LOL

Here is a close up of Mike:

*This was again using my favorite feature on the character carts, the icon feature!

The kids in this age group are from 8 - 15 so this was something they all could make, and that they all liked!  TFL, and hope you have a Magical Monday!!

"My project is another Disney page for my mini album that I am making. You can see one of the first pages I created here.  First, let me show you a picture of my 9 x 9 layout:"

Mickey And Friends Monday

Hi Everybody!
Did you all have a great weekend?  I took some time off from packing and cleaning and spent some time bike riding with the family.  We also spent time at Grandma and Grandpa's house :o)  Now it's time for the week to begin, but that's good news 'cause that means it's time for Mickey and Friends Monday!

I recently received an email asking about where I had found a film strip cut on one of my projects.  This project was from a year ago, and although I knew it had come from one of the Mickey cartridges, I wasn't exactly sure which one. So I immediately went to MyCutSearch.com  and typed in film strip and found the one I was looking for.  (MyCutSearch.com is also celebrating their one year anniversary, so be sure to check out their celebration!!)

*It can be easy to miss since it's listed using the icon border feature.

*Here is the invitation I made using that cut.  Please click on the title if you'd like to see the full post.

Cartridges: Mickey and Friends, Tags, Bags, Boxes & More,
Mini Monograms, George, & Paper Dolls

Sizes: (OUTSIDE) filmstrip (M&F cart) = 1 1/2",
popcorn box (TBBM cart)= 4 1/2",
popcorn (flower on MM cart) = 3/4",
tickets (M&F cart) = 1/2 "

(INSIDE) outline of movie screen (George cart)= 5", seat back (George cart) = 1 3/4", armrest (balloon with bottom cut off - George cart), hair (PD cart)

Aren't those cute?!?! We had a great time at that birthday party :)  But do you still need more Disney?  This weekend, I will be in the Disney Pixar Blog Hop!!!  It all starts on the Crafty Chic's blog at 3am Pacific (that is 6am EST, 5am Central, 4am Mountain).  Don't miss it!

TFL, and hope you all have a Magical Monday :O)

Hi Everybody!

The Queen's talented designer's have one awesome week for you showcasing PSA Essential Stamps with a back to school theme!   You should have just come from my good friend Gaby from Gaby Creates. If not, please head over to the hop hostess Theresa at The Scrapbooking Queen's blog so you can start from the beginning!  The Queen's talented designer's (for one awesome week) will be showcasing for you PSA Essentials
And if that's not exciting enough for you, today is also Mickey and Friends Monday here on my blog! Each of the Queen's designers were given a set of stamps to highlight for this hop. I got the Mom's Calendar set.

Here are the project details:
*Mickey and Friends cartridge = airplane, cloud
*PSA Essentials =  Mom's Calendar set, Royal Blue ink
*paper from my stash
*Stickles
*Pink By Design = Cloudy Day background stamp
*Peachy Keen Stamps = Everyday Face assortment
*twine from my stash
*Did you know there are two layer cuts on most of the Disney carts?  They are listed under the icon feature.  They have the same great cute style of Disney, but are MUCH easier to put together!
*Here is the handbook page where I chose the 2 cuts for today's project.
*My kids are going back to school today :(  But I'm already thinking about taking them out of school for another mini vacation!  Since we have to let our school and teachers know when we will be absent, I made this notecard to let them know my kids will be going on vacation!

Today my guest designer Sue from http://scrappindhilly.blogspot.com/ has an amazing layout to share.  Here's what she said:

I have created a two page layout using the Mickey and Friends and Mickey Font cartridges.
I recently made this layout to scrapbook some pictures from our trip to Disneyland last year.

Each of the characters are cut from the Mickey and Friends cartridge at 4.0 inches. When cutting out Disney characters, it is best not to cut them any smaller than about 4.0 inches.

There are many small pieces to each of the characters. I leave the pieces on my mat as I put each character together. This way I don't loose any pieces.

If your new to using your Cricut, it is also helpful to use the cartridge handbook so you can see what pieces need to be cut out and in which color.

The title for this layout is cut from the Mickey Font cartridge at 2.0 inches. Instead of using the shadow feature for this font I just cut the title out twice in different colors and offset the layers.

The Mickey ears on top of each of the photo mats was also cut from the Mickey Font cartridge at 2.0 inches. The Mickey ticket is also cut from the Mickey Font cartridge at 3.0 inches.

I also used a white gel pen to add extra detail to some of the die cuts.

Aren't those layouts beautiful? I think the Disney cuts make projects look so professional and finished!

Now don't forget about the BLOG CANDY!!!  There is an amazing GRAND PRIZE from PSA:

Mickey And Friends Monday

Hi Everybody!
It's time for another Mickey and Friends Monday :)  If your new to Mickey and Friends Mondays, it's where some guest designers and I give inspiration on using Disney cuts, and any tips we learned while putting these cuts together.

I have two talented guest designers today.  First up is my Facebook friend Jennifer Lorist from Jenn's Paper Crafts.  Here is her super cute project:

I have my little cousin's bday coming up next weekend so I thought what a perfect chance to use the mickey and friends cartridge. He loves Mickey!!! Hope you like it, it's my first project using this cartridge :)

Can you believe that's her first one?  What a great project for inspiration :oD

Next up is another Facebook friend of mine Georgiana from Carson's Creations.  Here's her amazing project:

I cut out the small pieces twice. Sometimes when they are that tiny, they do not cut smoothly, so I have more to choose from.

I used a MS glue stick to dab glue on the base and then added the teeth with my Cricut hook. The spots on his face and neck are also very tiny, so I used the same procedures.

Here is the hook I was referring to.

Jenny again :)  This is one of my MUST HAVE tools too when working with my Cricut!

I hope you all enjoyed these great projects, and that they inspire you to try some Disney cuts.  They aren't the easiest to put together, but I think they can be the most rewarding!  Have a magical Monday :oD
