Cooking With Cricut's SURPRISE "Thank You" Blog Hop!!

Hi Everybody!
Welcome to Cooking With Cricut’s very special SURPRISE "Thank You" Blog Hop. Why is it so special? There are a couple of reasons! The first reason -- it is our 100th Cooking With Cricut challenge and the second (and most important) is to thank our wonderful leader and "Executive Chef" Melinda Beltran.

Melin started the Cooking With Cricut challenges in October 2010 to encourage crafters to find new and different ways to use their Cricut cartridges. And she has accomplished that and so much more! She has given scores of crafters a place on her Design Teams which quickly turned into a sisterhood of women, who care for each other; who encourage each other; who lift each other and their families up in prayer; and who have shared their hearts and their art through many outreach projects.

So this is our SURPRISE "Thank You" tribute to our beloved Melin! If you came from Madison’s blog, Funky Cards, you’re in the right place! If you’ve joined us in mid-hop and would like to start at the beginning, please head back to Cooking With Cricut – you won’t want to miss any of these awesome cards!!

*Groovy Times Cricut cartridge - flowers
*Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge - rectangles and mats
*Cricut Decals Digital Cricut cartridge - Cricut Queen
*Jaded Blossom - Teacher Appreciation stamp set, Curly Label Die
*Fiskars - border punch

*I wanted to make a special card to thank Melin, so I found this card-in-card design that I thought would be perfect!

 *Here's the front....

*....with the first flap opened up.

*Then it opens up to the little card inside!

*Here's the inside of the little card.

*I thought this was the perfect cut and sentiment for the inside of this card!

I'd also like to thank Jen for doing such an amazing job helping Melin with this team full of such amazing, and talented women :OD

Thanks so much for hopping with us. We hope you’ll join us and leave your own "thank you" in the comment section for Melin at CWC! Now it’s time to head on over to Kemma at Kemma's Cards  – she’s the next stop on this party train!

Whatcha Been Doing This Summer Blog Hop!

Hi Everybody!
Welcome to the "Whatcha Been Doing This Summer" blog hop!  I'm so happy you could join me and my super talented Thankful Thursday Designers :O)  For this month's hop, my designers and I wanted to know what you have been doing this summer, and share some of the trouble of what we've been up to.  Here are my projects:

*I am lucky enough to get to teach a Papercrafting class.  It's so super fun, and I've had a total blast getting to know the ladies!  We recently finished a session, so I wanted to make them a little something to thank them for being in my class.

Here's what I used:
*Create a Critter Cricut cartridge - owl
*Jaded Blossom - sentiment stamp, Friendly Kisses stamp set
*Peachy Keen Animal Faces

*We've also spent some time outdoors this hot season.  My husband is a runner, and participated in his first mud run.  It's just what it sounds like.  They run a course with obstacles, including some mud pits!  Fun, but dirty :O)

*His team had an 80's theme, so we decided to make him a "Frankie" t-shirt.

*Square 1 has some iron on material (in addition to the adhesive fabric), and it was the perfect solution for my project!

*So totally awsome, and radical right?!?!?  Lol!  If you'd like to see the full post with video, and a picture of what this shirt looked like AFTER the mud run, click HERE. (This will open up in another window so you won't get de-railed in the hop!)

*I also taught a kids Papercrafting class for a little while this summer.  This is the 2nd year I've done it, and my two older girls and I really love it!  It's a great bonding experience :O)

*We made a bunch of different projects.  This one was door hangers for their rooms.  Here's what I used:

*Art Philosophy - door hanger
*Sesame Street Seasons Cricut cartridge - bug character
*Close to My Heart - letter stamps
*Peachy Keen - June Stamp of the Month (frog and turtle on the other side)

*It was really fun to see how the kids decorated their projects and how their personalities came out.

Cooking With Cricut Challenge - BFF Bingo

Hi Everybody!
It's time for another
Cooking With Cricut Challenge! This challenge is all about BINGO! Lol, well crafty bingo anyway!  You will need to use 3 of the items on the CWC Bingo card to create a project to celebrate your BFF.  Since I have some friends with birthdays this month, I created this bday treat for them.  Here is the bingo card:

I decided to use the bottom row of stamp, ink, and die cut.  I knew the Art Philosophy cartridge with it's coordinating stamps would be perfect for this!  Here are the details for my project:

*Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge - cupcake die cut w/coordinating stamp
*CTMH - cupcake stamp
*Jaded Blossom - Birthday Kisses stamp set
*Peachy Keen Stamps - Happy Lashes Face Assortment
*Colorbok - ink (for distressing the edges of treat base)

*I also added some Stickles for some glittery frosting :O)

*These Rolo candies get a little extra "dressed up" with these treat stamps :O)

I hope you enjoyed my project. Now it’s your turn!!! Head on over to Cooking With Cricut to enter your project. TFL, and hope everyone has a chance to craft today :OD

Timeless Twine August Challenge

Hi Everybody!
It's time for another Timeless Twine Challenge! This time the challenge is:

summer foods and scallops!

We love all kinds of foods during the summer, but it's really summer season when we start breaking out the fruit!  Pineapple, strawberries, and cherries are a few of our favorites.....yummy!!!  Here is my challenge project:

*Timeless Twine - Olive Green, Lemonade, Pumpkin Orange
*Nate's ABC's Cricut cartridge - pineapple fruit group
*Life's A Beach Cricut cartridge - sandcastle, beach ball
*Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge - starburst shape
*Jaded Blossom - Feeling Fruity stamp set (strawberries, and sentiments)

*Although it's been quite a while since we've had anybody on formula at our house, we saved all the formula cans!  They are perfect for centerpieces!!
*I just took some 12" x 24 paper, cut it into strips, and wrapped it around the can.
*To keep with the summer theme, I filled it with play sand to weigh it down.

*Summer also means the beach for us, so I threw in a couple of summer cuts on our summer centerpiece :O)

Now it's your turn! Head on over to the Timeless Twine blog to enter the challenge, and for your chance to win a great prize. TFL, and hope everyone has a chance to craft today :O)
